OUR STORY

It all began back in 1979 when Sal Corrao moved his family to Mission Viejo from New Jersey. Sal’s boys, Jeff and David, grew up participating in all of the local sports leagues.  In the spring, Sal coached  baseball in the North Mission Viejo Little League.  In the fall, he coached football for Saddleback Valley Pop Warner.

In 1981, Sal helped build  the little snack bar at Los Alisos for the football program.   He dug an 18” deep trench from the school all the way to the snack bar for electricity - approximately the length of a football field.   Jeff and David also swam with the Nadadores at what used to be called the Marguerite Rec Center.   Jeff and David attended O’Neill Elementary School, Los Alisos Jr. High and Trabuco Hills High School.   Sal’s sons have gone on different paths in life. While Jeff has remained in Mission Viejo, David is currently a coach in the NFL. In 1991, Jeff went to work for Ball Park Pizza Team NMV.  The location  All Star Pizza occupies today is the same location where Jeff worked for Ball Park. A few years later, Jeff partnered with 4 others and opened  The Clubhouse Grill & Pizza which was located at what is now High Park Tap House by the Alicia Softball fields.  When an opportunity arose that allowed Jeff to work for his high school football coach, Jim Barnett, at  Daily’s Sports Grill, he left the Clubhouse. Jeff would stay in the food industry until 1998.  From 1998-2012, Jeff had a successful sales  career in the concrete construction industry.   During those years, Jeff  and Sal often talked about opening a pizza place where teams and  families could come and enjoy fresh, tasty food, ice cold beer; a place  where everyone felt at home.

In early 2012, a space in the Los Alisos Village shopping center opened  up, and those dreams about opening a pizza restaurant started to  become a reality.  All Star Pizza was born.   For the next several  months, the space went through a complete remodel.   There is only one  wall left from previous tenants. There is new plumbing, electrical, and  air conditioning.  Sal and Jeff wanted their customers to have a clean, brand new environment in which to enjoy their food.  Construction
ended approximately September 1, 2012, and All Star Pizza opened for business on September 6th.
The rest of the story will be written by you, our customers.   All Star Pizza thanks you in advance for allowing us to bring you great food, lots  of TV’s, ice cold beer, and fun for all the family.
Thank you for making All Star Pizza a success.
